“ Authentic Peruvian chifa! Looking for a place to eat while changing the car, we found this gem nearby. This was the best chifa we had in a long time. The chaufa aeropuerto, tallarin saltado con carne and pollo tipacay tasted just like back home. We also had the chicha morada and it was very good too. Friendly service and nice atmosphere, I wish we had time to eat there and enjoy this piece of Peru in Scranton. ”
“ Literally the best quality food and best tasting of all ethnicities in the city. I would travel for miles and miles to eat here if I didn't live here. 10 out 10 hands down!! The service is even better. They made our sangria right there, fresh, chopped all the fruits and poured all the liquor & wine right in front of us. “ Chifa Peru is a stunning example of ethnic cuisine. The pricing is moderate on most of the entrees, but not expensive. My partner and I stopped here for a date night dinner before our movie. Four out of five stars for the atmosphere, but that is only because they just opened, so business is slow, so it was kind of quiet. I really enjoyed that the food was top quality and fresh, but the dining room didn't feel stuffy. Casual-nice clothes were plenty sufficient. They start you off with a complementary snack of some kind of air fried corn while you wait for your food. He ordered the pork fried rice. The pork was delightfully tender and juicy, and they cut it into good size pieces without it being too large to scoop. I ordered the Beef Heart Skewers, which come in spicy, mildly spicy and not spicy. I ordered the mildly spicy and it was just the right amount of heat to eat comfortably. The flavor was rich and the meat was cooked perfectly tender and juicy. I also ordered the Cassava Fries, with came with a lovely sauce, which I believe was sour cream, jalapenos, cilantro and lime. It was moderately spicy, but went well with the fries as cassava is fairly starchy and will cut a lot of the flavor. We finished off our meal with a piece of Flan. All I can say is wow. I have not had flan as delicious as that since my coworker from Venezuela made me one! When we received our check, they give you little complementary soursop fruit hard candies. Overall an incredible experience. I will done here again in the future. ”
“ WOW! My husband noticed this restaurant and picked up a menu. Honestly, I was extremely hesitant for a few reasons and the prices were a bit high. Nothing on the menu really seemed to catch my eye but we decided to try it out after all. Much to my surprise the food was delicious!! While I felt the rice, salad, and French fries portion could have been a bit more, we all left the table satisfied. We’re a family of 4, so we ordered 2 of the whole chicken with French fries and salad, and 1 order of the beef with mix vegetables and white rice. The food came with a bunch of the green spicy sauce(which is delicious and spicy indeed) that others have mentioned and 2 clear sauces(which we did not use). I can honestly say that everything was delicious ESPECIALLY the beef with mix vegetables. As a heads up, The mix vegetables included mushroom so if you’re allergic or do not like mushrooms maybe ask to hold off on them(you’re welcome!). We will order from this restaurant again. Oh and the staff was also very kind! I give 5 ! ”
“ We wanted something "different" and I found this place on Google Maps. What a lucky find! The food was really good! Not heavy nor greasy. At least not what we had. #3 quarter of a chicken and #4 beef were very good! Told them it was our first time there. The waiter, Manuel, was very proud to tell us things about Peruvian foods. The bartender also could tell us things that she learned from Manuel. There is a purple corn and fruit drink that is supposed to be healthy, Chicha Morada. They gave us a sample. The BF liked it so much that he ordered a glass. And when I said, "well, ice cream is ice cream." Manuel was like, oh no, you have to try our Peruvian ones! They gave us a sample of that too. They were right! The Lucuma is similar to caramel to me. My BF really loved the Cherimoya ice cream and wants to take a gallon home! I would come here again! (Forgot to take a picture of the other side of the meal menu!) ”
“ Absolutely loved it! The roast chicken platter is an absolute steal. The Pisco Sour was delicious and refreshing. Make sure to get extra green sauce and put it on everything. Fantastic food that's extremely affordable and a nice departure from typical Scranton/NEPA fare. Highly recommend! ”
“ My mother took me here for the first time today. She comes often and kept raving about it. And now that I've been, I can also highly recommend!!! Sushi rolls are great and very fairly priced. Staff was friendly and wonderful. I can't wait to go back. ”
“ BEST FLAVOR RESTAURANT IN SCRANTON... This place is absolutely exquisite in flavor; we walked in it really expecting much but WOW! we were surprised, our party of 8 went on Sunday around 3 pm, the service is phenomenal, very friendly people, we had the pleasure to meet the manager and he was amazing at introducing the business and making us feel super welcome; on the menu side we order 2 whole roasted chicken, 2 chicken rise and noodles, the dishes came with french fries ( they were crunchy and fresh) the chicken was really well roasted and good meaty, the salad and the sauce they put on the side are pretty good. I can’t say enough on how good this restaurant is, really amazing experience to have in Scranton. I dare you to try them and join me with my statement. ”
